The WoltLab Suite is moving forward once again, with WSC 6.1 nearing its release. In this regard, we would like to take a moment to address our stance and explain in detail how we plan to proceed with the compatibility of our products for the latest WoltLab Suite version. In principle, all style/product versions released before WoltLab Suite 6.1 are not compatible and should not be used in production at this time.
Will there be an upgrade?
In short: Yes! We definitely plan to adapt our WSC 6.0 products to the latest WoltLab Suite version and will release a compatibility update in the near future. The work on updating our products has already begun or has (in part) been completed. Once the final version of WSC 6.1 is released, we will submit the updates for review.
What are the costs associated with the upgrade?
For existing customers, the upgrade (if needed) will incur a one-time fee per license, which can be ordered through the license management section as soon as the product upgrade is available. The price for styles will be €9.99.
Customers who have purchased products through our shop can extend their respective licenses via license management in their customer account, as previously mentioned. Customers who have purchased our products directly from the PluginStore at WoltLab will also need to purchase the upgrade in the PluginStore. The price for updates in the WoltLab PluginStore will be €12.99.
Note: All "Branding Free" licenses are exempt from this and do not require a paid upgrade.
Goodwill
Customers who purchased their license or license extension from our shop on or after October 10, 2024 (the release date of the WoltLab Suite 6.1 RC version) will receive the upgrade to the latest version free of charge as a goodwill gesture. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer this arrangement in the WoltLab PluginStore due to a lack of available options.
Special Case
The two styles "Visionary 2.0" and "SideVision" are not affected by this upgrade. Since these two styles were released shortly before the WSC 6.1 launch, no update costs will be incurred, and all customers (both from our shop and the WoltLab PluginStore) will receive the upgrade to WSC 6.1 free of charge.
